Eighth Day Magazine Issue Fifteen: Two Covers, One Christmas Spectacular!

Thank you for making Eighth Day Magazine Issue Fifteen our biggest issue so far! The Two Cover, One Christmas Spectacular, out now in Print and eMag form has exceeded even our expectations!

The cover star star of Issue Fifteen (One of Two) is Jona Lewie, who, as well as telling us all about the writing, recording and legacy of one of the greatest Christmas songs ever written, 'Stop the Cavalry', gives us an incredible insight into his incredible fifty year career. Meanwhile, the cover stars of Issue Fifteen (Two of Two) are Dischord, who this year released their fourth album 'Convent Crescent', the soundtrack to a book of the same name written by vocalist Chris Newton and bassist Zowie Swan, which was in turn based on a short film they made in 2018. Inside Issue Fifteen, you will find an interview about 'Convent Crescent' and much more as well as an in-depth Track by Track guide to the album and a look at its recording. For our Christmas Spectacular, the band re-enact 'A Christmas Carol' and were photographed by our super-photographer Scott Rodgers.

Elsewhere, we reveal our and your favourite albums and films of 2019 with interviews with some of the bands and artists who made them. Kevin Burke chats with singer-songwriter and frontwoman of Throwing Muses and 50FOOTWAVE, Kristin Hersh and frontman of The Membranes, John Robb, whilst Editor-in-Chief Alice Jones-Rodgers catches up with The Awkwards and Bleach Everything, Paul Foden reviews New Model Army live at SWX in Bristol and we review the latest album by comedy music act Mik Artistik's Ego Trip, 'More'. Which album and film are best of the last twelve months, as voted for by you? Find out inside Eighth Day Magazine Issue Fifteen!

Meanwhile, Alice and Scott interview Blackpool acid punks The Drop-Out Wives and Alice interviews London-born, Ireland-based singer-songwriter Dean Wright and his band Dean and Chapter; Mr. T breaks down the anatomy of a Christmas film and we review the Emma Thompson written / starring 'Last Christmas'; Kevin Burke looks at the Return of Gothic Rock, with exclusive contributions from Bauhaus, Skeletal Family, Alien Sex Fiend and former Fields of the Nephilim guitarist Peter Yates; Pete Dennis reviews live performances by The Selecter, Rhoda Dakar, Emily Capell, Eyehategod, Melt-Banana, Life of Agony, Doyle and Outta Luck; Frenchy joins us for another exclusive rant, this month about Brexit and bands and our Gig Guide will sort out your Christmas nights out!
